Assilah Festival - Morocco hosts Arab Women in Media seminar

Morocco's Assilah Festival on Sunday (August 16th) opened a three-day seminar focused on Arab Woman in Media, MAP reported. In his opening address, Moroccan Communication Minister and Government Spokesperson Khalid Naciri noted that the increased presence of women in Arab media underscores the social development of Arab societies. Other participants were quoted as saying, however, that television remains a male-dominated medium, where moderators of programmes devoted to political and economic issues rarely invite female panellists. Participants from 13 Arab countries are attending the event.
