Hammamet’s “Dar Sebastian” ends the year on lyrical note

Tunis, December 5, 2008- The beautiful setting of Dar Sebastian, which is located on the grounds of the Hammamet International Cultural Centre, will play host to the second session of its lyrical festival, “Dar Sebastian celebrates opera”.

The festival which runs from December 5 to 20, 2008 will feature, singing, instrumental music, dancing, and the reading of literary texts, celebrating opera

Musical ensembles and artists from Italy, Poland, Bulgaria and Tunisia will perform during weekends.

On Friday, Daniela Dimova, Adriana Grekova and Todor Petrov, from Bulgaria will sing and perform extracts from Bach, Chopin, Scriabin and Mussorgsky, and the last evening will feature Marianna Vinci from Italy along with Mehdi Trabelsi who will accompany her on the piano.

However, the festival will also offer training sessions, dubbed “masterclasses” which are destined to students from the musical institutes of Tunis and El Kef.

Lovers of great music will certainly appreciate the shows which promise to be a delight to the eyes and ears, as well as an agreeable way to celebrate the end of the year.
